Sales division establishes
and consulting network
CHERDEL promotes a structured
and consistent approach to global
expansion. In order to take full advan-
tage of the market opportunities provid-
ed by globalisation, the Group has
been expanding its international pres-
ence significantly for a number of
years. Besides setting up new plants in
Europe and Asia, and investing in cut-
ting-edge technologies at all the loca-
tions, a critical element of the success
to date is an extensive range of ser-
vices for every customer worldwide.
SCHERDEL’s aim is to support its
global clients through creative coopera-
tion and close personal dialogue in or-
der to solve both technical and com-
mercial problems together.
The company has for many years of-
fered its customers local support
through regional sales units or the
SCHERDEL Service Centres (SSC),
which provide advice and guidance on
product development, ramp-ups, large-
scale deliveries and many other issues.
Higher and faster awareness of cus-
tomer needs is only possible by main-
taining a permanent exchange of infor-
mation and having in-depth knowledge
of the market.
Increasing personnel capacity
In addition to the established sales
units in Germany and in all the key au-
tomotive markets throughout Europe,
Asia and America, the Group continues
to increase its personnel capacity in the
fields of sales and product develop-
ment. The teams in the USA and Mexi-
co, in particular, have been busy re-
cruiting highly qualified development
engineers and sales staff. Customers in
Brazil also benefit from the support pro-
vided by the local sales representatives
and technicians. In China, which is now
the world’s largest automotive market,
the sales team has grown in recent
years in both a quantitative and qualita-
tive sense. Furthermore, SCHERDEL
continues to have its own offices and
production facilities in the Japanese
market, which has been leading the
way for decades.
This strategy enables the company to
support customers locally and grow
with them globally. At SCHERDEL par-
ticular focus is placed on staff develop-
ment. All the employees in the sales
and product development sectors re-
ceive intensive training at the head-
quarters in Germany; thus ensuring
they have the required level of expert
knowledge to meet the high technologi-
cal demands of customers and to mar-
ket the Group’s extensive portfolio.
Renaissance in Europe
SCHERDEL is also planning to estab-
lish a sales unit in South Korea in the
near future. As a European company,
we believe the “Old Continent” will be
able to retain its position as a key auto-
motive market and some countries may
even experience a sort of renaissance.
After all, Europe is home to many tech-
nical innovations and over 15 million
vehicles are still produced there each
year. Therefore, the management’s
“Youngest SSC”
in India
The “youngest SSC” has
been up and running in In-
dia since November 2014.
The staff there are current-
ly analysing possible mar-
ket potentials and develop-
ing a strategy for a suit-
able initial product that can
be used to kick start local
production on the subcon-
tinent in 2016. A further
key activity is the provision
of after-sales service and
technical advice and guid-
ance to Indian customers
who have until now pur-
chased products from
SCHERDEL manufactur-
ing locations in Germany.
The local experts offer
practical support and tips
on a range of issues, in-
cluding customs proce-
dures, taxes, freight costs
and export opportunities
from India to countries
such as China, South Ko-
rea, Thailand and Indone-
sia.
SCHERDEL plans to
place even greater empha-
sis on the development of
home-grown sales struc-
tures to ensure “local pres-
ence” worldwide. While the
manufacturing sector fol-
lows the principle of "One
Process Worldwide", the
mission statement which
guides market develop-
ment is “One Network
Worldwide”.
