TECHNOLOGY & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
- NEWS AND INFORMATION
For examining the dimensions of the
prototypes, a 3D measuring installation
was recently purchased specially for
the Prototype Shop. This device can
provide a visual image of the customer
requirements. When the development
project is handed over to the production
factory, the measurement parameters
thus remain the same and there is no
loss of data caused by the communica-
tion process.
In order to keep up with the major
trends in the automotive industry, such
as electromobility, the suppliers must
adapt their development work.
SCHERDEL took the necessary steps
at an early stage and so today this
work includes, among other things,
piece parts and assemblies for battery
systems, power electronics and electric
machines. The Prototype Shop now
meets the new requirements concern-
ing the necessary production tech-
niques.
This means that development parts
and small lots for the technologies of
the future can be produced without diffi-
culty. In addition to the manufacture of
innovative products, the Prototype
Shop attaches great importance to the
development of processes aimed at fu-
ture series production.
To ensure that "fresh ideas" will con-
tinue to impress the customers in the
future, SCHERDEL regularly takes on
young members of staff to work in the
research department. Their task is to
extend the knowledge gathered by the
Group over the generations and to
make it applicable to future develop-
ments.
