NEWS AND INFORMATION
Company history &
portfolio
In 1947, two long-standing
companies, “Berliner Spi-
ralfedernfabrik” and “Karl-
Flauger-Spiralfedernfabrik”,
merged to form Flauger &
Flämig oHG. After becoming
well established in the market
due to its expertise in spiral
spring production, the compa-
ny joined the SCHERDEL-
Group
in 1976.
Within the SCHERDEL-
Group
– the largest European
provider of technical springs
with machine, system and tool
making facilities – Flauger &
Flämig manufactures contact,
bracket and leaf springs from
high-precision stamped com-
ponents with thicknesses of
between 0.05 and 3 mm. Tor-
sion and shaped wire springs
are produced in-house with
wire diameters ranging from
0.4 to 1.5 mm.
Today, Flauger & Flämig
has an excellent reputation
and a strong customer base
in the fields of automotive,
medical engineering, electrical
and household appliances,
electronics and lighting
technology. Thanks to the
extensive portfolio of the
SCHERDEL subsidiary and
the entire SCHERDEL
Group

tional customer demands ef-
fectively and efficiently with

prices, stricter environmental legislation
and more complex customer wishes. In
order to guarantee the continuous opti-
misation of products in terms of quality
and variety, a holistic consideration of
development, production and product
lifecycles is always necessary. The reg-
ulations of VDA 6 and the requirements
and procedures defined by ‘Formel Q-
konkret’ from VW promote process
transparency, and standardisation en-
sures comparability.
Everyone involved in a project is in-
corporated, from the manufacturer right
down to its suppliers and service
providers. This is how Flauger & Flämig
guarantees its high and individual quali-
ty standards. Clients profit from shorter
and more flexible production cycles with
improved quality characteristics.

What is VDA 6?
Through the implementation and certi-
fication of quality management in ac-
cordance with the German automotive
industry standard VDA 6, car manu-
facturers as well as their suppliers and
service providers receive the results of
standardised and, thus, comparable
assessments of their QM systems,
processes, products and services.
This guarantees greater transparency.
For example, errors which may occur
at the design stage can be eliminated
during the development process be-
fore pilot and large-scale production
commences. This helps customers cut
valuable development and production
costs. All Flauger & Flämig clients,
whether from the automotive sector or
another industry, profit from the VW
certification ‘Formel Q-konkret’.
As a manufacturer of strip and wire precision springs, Flauger & Flämig’s high quality and efficiency
were underlined by the VW audit. The Berlin-based member of the SCHERDELGroup was given top
grades.
